Let’s do it.

Against an uncertain economic backdrop, the US employment report for January just arrived. It’s the most important monthly economic update on the health of the world’s largest economy.

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics said 151,000 new jobs were created last month, after a revised 262,000-job gain in December. The unemployment rate actually fell below 5% for the first time since 2008.

Why not grab a cup of coffee and keep it locked with us here this morning? We’ll be gathering the best data tidbits, analysis, and—of course—charts from around the web in order to put what’s arguably the world’s most important economic indicator into context.
