Photos: Retirees spend their free time graffiti-ing the walls of Lisbon

This ain’t your mother’s street art. It’s your grandmother’s.

A merry band of 65-and-overs have taken to the streets of Lisbon, Portugal, to spray-paint bright murals over city walls. The program is called Lata 65 (which translates to “Can 65,” and is symbolic of the retirement age), a series of workshops run by the community art collective Wool.

The aim is to give participants confidence and a creative outlet. The workshops, begun in 2012, have helped over 100 seniors unlock their inner Banksy. See some of our favorite photos below.
