France tries to boost business

France’s Socialist government unveiled measures to bolster the struggling industrial sector and make exporters more competitive but fell short of the “shock therapy” type measures industry leaders are urging. The plan aims to ease payroll taxes by €20 billion over three years and will be funded by spending cuts and sales tax rises.
